AcroYoga Weekend Workshop in Kassel

Event Details

You always wanted to learn how easy it feels to be able to fly through the room with elements of Acro Yoga and how they can go into flowing dancing and improvisation? You want to know how acrobatics become soft and free and improvisation becomes clear and powerful?

You’ll be surprised how easy many complex-looking exercises really are!

In our workshop we want to explore the common movement potential in partner situations with Acro Yoga, use body intelligence and mindfulness and to go to our limits with ease. The workshop will be rounded off with meditative elements, massages and relaxation exercises.

Acro Yoga is the trend sport that is currently experiencing an upswing across Europe among lay and performers. Acrobatic flying differs from classical acrobatics primarily by three-dimensional, flowing changes of position of the aviator and soothing organic positions, which originate from yoga.
Therapeutic flying and massage are two other aspects of Acro Yoga that give the workshop, in addition to its intensive phases, a holistic, relaxing touch.

We recommend this workshop for people with and without previous experience in Acro Yoga or a related movement discipline. We have something to offer for all levels and bodies.

Please bring comfortable clothes, something to drink and some vegan snacks for the buffet.

ABOUT US

David studied psychology and has practiced contact improvisation and Acro Yoga intensively for about five years each. Since last year he has engaged in various experiments that combine the both and other somatic arts as well.
David also facilitates workshops about the topics of relationships and overcoming gender roles as well as meditation, Thai massage, laughing yoga and authentic encounter.
As an activist he is engaged in the climate justice movement and he is currently coordinating an environmental education project in public schools. He likes to open and co-create spaces in which utopic ideas can be explored practically.
David’s method box contains a colorful mix of exercises from psychotherapy, acrobatics, Thai massage, tantra, meditation and contact improvisation, from community building (Scott Peck), and much more… Mindful and honest communication is a central aspect in (almost) all of his workshops.

Originally from Spain, Elena has been practicing acro yoga for around 4 years now. She is a certified yoga and acro yoga teacher. Lately she has been traveling and sharing her love for yoga and acrobatics around the world. She has a solid background in theater, meditation and graphic arts.
As a massage therapist, she is very interested in the relationship between body and mind, between the physical and emotional parts of human beings.
