AcroYoga Weekend Workshop with Gabriella and Mito

Event Details

Co-founder of Acroyoga Stockholm – Gabriella, and acrobatics, yoga and bodywork-teacher Mito are coming to Oslo to share their work with spiraling L-basing washing machines and new funky transitions! There will also be whips, pops, icarian & whip-pops.

CONTENTS:

Whips
Time to swing flyers! Whips are dynamic transitions on L-Base, usually from some kind of bird or throne to another bird or throne. Definitely one of the fastest and most exiting elements in Acroyoga. We will start with basics, but have funky variations for you and are prepared to step it up.

Pops and Icarian
In this workshop, flyers are actually gonna fly! In pops, hands always stay connected, while in Icarian there is real airtime, ie moments of free flying included. Most skills in this set can be done as a pop first and eventually then also as Icarian, or linked in tempo.

Spiraling washing machines – Sacred Fusili
Waves and spirals are fascinating universal patterns that can be found everywhere around us. They are also great inspiration for movements and acro tricks. We’ll explore different ways to create and use spirals in and with our bodies, to then use them to spice up our L-Basing acro practice.

THE TEACHERS:

Gabi
Gabi’s classes focus on building trust, playfulness and creating community that strengthens each individual. Empowering each student to feel safe, included and ready to explore! Through embodied movement, connection, and play we dissolve fear and tap into new and infinite possibilities of self expression and unity. Gabi’s classes will leave you feeling stronger together, elevated and held by a community of supportive people. That allows you to expand your trust and try new things in a safe and super playful environment.

Gabi is a certified AcroYoga teacher through AcroYoga.org and she has studied acrobatics and circus arts at the Swedish Circus school, Cirkus Cirkör. She teaches thai Yoga massage inviting students into a Lunar dance of listening & following their own intuition. She has studied Thai Yoga massage with the Sunshine Network in Thailand. She co-founded the AcroYoga Stockholm community with Tobias Strollo in 2009 and she teaches and travels worldwide.

Mito
Born and raised in Germany, Mito now lives a nomadic lifestyle, exploring and teaching movement, acrobatics, yoga and bodywork. For Mito, movement is a way to connect with presence, awareness and intuition. A way to attune with life. A form of meditation when it guides us out of the I-dentification, away from expectations, worries, judgements, and patterns. A medicine as it supports power, health and freedom physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

In his workshops he intends to create an atmosphere where an open and sincere experience of movement, of the self and of others can happen in a natural, intuitive and joyful way. At first, it might just feel like a playful workout with a portion of humor and some new information for your body and mind. But ideally at the end you find yourself experiencing the world a bit differently.
