The Perth acro community is super excited to be hosting the 15th Great Acro Exchange and would love you to be part of it. As we are so close to Asia, we would like to extend the invite and include all the close communities. The more the merrier.
** What is an Exchange? ****
The plan is simple: bring acrobats from all over Australia(& the world) together for three big jams where you make new friends, amazing memories and have loads of acro fun.
*The AcroJam Philosophy *
An AcroJam is a time and space in which acrobats from all disciplines get together to hang out, play and train. Jams are not a workshop or lesson; they are simply a gathering of like-minded individuals, who come together to share their skills and our love for all things acrobatic.
*The Exchange Philosophy*
Exchanges are a celebration of our local Jam culture on an epic level. Just as an AcroJam is “an afternoon in the park” an Exchange is “a weekend in a city”. Organisers specify the time and the place but it’s up to you to bring the magic and make your own fun! They are intended to be as low cost as possible and inclusive as possible.
The same way many of us have forged strong connections in our local community, an exchange is a chance to forge these same connections to a whole new group of people in another city.

We have a wonderful community of people keen to host you and make your Perth exchange as amazing as possible. Come and meet some new incredible friends.

Friday night there will be a communal sleep over in Fremantle.
** Where the magic happens **
1* Welcome -Sunset in the Sea jam- South Beach Fremantle
Friday Oct. 25th from 3pm ‘til 8pm-ish
-Make your first view of Perth a sunset over the ocean with Rottnest Island in the backdrop.
-We will have a lovely shared dinner around 7pm. Mick will cook up a delicious big curry and locals please bring some food to share with our guests.
-Bring some Bathers and a towel for a sunset dip in the Indian Ocean.

Head to the north end of the cafe car park, we will be on the grass under the line of trees.
FRIDAY NIGHT Fremantle sleepover.
Acro sleepovers are so much fun that we feel we need to have one. Lots of acrobats in sleeping bags, massage trains, cuddle puddles and late night acro. There will be some bedding, mattresses and sleeping stuff provided but please bring some if you have any that you could add to the collection. Everyone is welcome.
There are lots of cafes in walking distance for coffee and breakfast Saturday morning.
2* Kings Park Jam- Coz we are like royalty
Saturday Oct. 26th from 11am ‘til the other amazing event starts.
-Kings Park is one of the largest inner-city parks in the world. It features hectares of lush green grass and wonderful trees with spectacular views over Perth City and the Swan river. You can check out the war memorial or take a stroll through the botanical garden if you need a break or a little quiet time under a tree.
– There are a couple of cafés scattered throughout the park, but they are a little expensive so if you can bring something to snack on.

SATURDAY NIGHT
Something amazing will be planned
3* Scarborough Beach Jam
Sunday Oct. 27th at 10am ‘til dark.
-Perth is all about beautiful beaches so we will head back to the ocean for our final official exchange jam.
-Bring your bathers- you will want to jump in the water.
-There will be a slackline and some other circus props to play with
-The main area of Scarborough has a little climbing wall, skate park and there is often dancing on a Sunday night there. Lots of atmosphere. If its too busy we will be on a grass section just south of the main area
-There are all sorts of cafes very close by.

** Want to explore more of Perth? **
We know some of you will have come from far, so we’d like to extend the invite past the weekend and invite people to stay longer and experience more of the West. If people are keen, we will organize trips to Rottnest, down south camping, climbing over the river at Black Wall reach and whatever other fun Perthy things people are interested in. Please let us know how long you hope to find a host for if staying longer and we will do our best to accommodate you. There may be costs involved in extra activities (like Rottnest) but we will do our best to keep them as low as we can.
