Acro MasterMind Teacher Training in Bend

Event Details

This teacher training will draw primarily from our years of progressive acrobatics self study, teaching tours, and “MasterMind” programs. Designed for the experienced practitioner, the training will be focused on three main points:

Developing progressive “athletic” training tools and applying them to partner acrobatics;
learning the art of self diagnosis to troubleshoot failures and plateaus in the practice;
and ultimately to train as a “coach” and “teacher” with the skills necessary to inspire your students and help them reach their goals – even when those goals surpass your own skills.
Memorize the greatest prose in history and you might impress for a while. Become a master of grammar, syntax and the nuance of a language and you can write words that others will memorize. Better still – master the arts of learning and teaching language, and you can change the way the world communicates completely.

“What sort of teacher will you be?”

What to Expect:

This will be a small training, with our max limit at 18 people as we want to be able to go deep with the crew. We ask that all applicants be serious in their desire to attend. Ideally you have trained with us before. If not, it is a great benefit if you come recommended from someone that knows our ways and thinks that you are a good fit!

Upon registering, we ask that you tell us why you want to come to this training. We will set up a relaxed over the phone or Skype conversation to make sure this training is in fact the right one for you! If we believe it is not a good fit, you will received a full refund.

During the program, you can expect long days of physical training and discussions on technique and training for the first half of the training. The second half of the training will be more focused on coaching/teaching, partner and group diagnosing, and discussions on the many different aspects of what it means to be a coach/teacher, and how to build community.

How Much:

$850 USD. This includes a 3 day pass to our favorite Olympic recovery center. There is a $250 non refundable deposit due at time of registration. The remaining is due by May 1st.

Where:

Bend, Oregon is our home and one of our favorite places in the whole wide world. It is full of many extra curricular activities such as hiking, biking, suping, kayaking, packrafting, and of course enjoying the local breweries. We are thrilled to be offering a teacher training here!

When:

Meet-and-greet at Crux on Sunday (June 2nd) eve- this is super chill. Come get some food and a beer/cider and get to know one another.
The training itself will run Monday (June 3) through Sunday (June 9).
Training ends Sunday the 10th at 5 pm.

Lodging and Food:

This is a non residential training. Bend is a very easy place to either rent a place with some other students or post on the Bend Acro FB page and find some local friends. There is also camping on the outskirts of Bend. If you need help finding a place, let us know and we will do our best! Also, in March, we will be opening a TT group just for the attendees so you can coordinate housing and such.

Extracurriculars:

It would not be a JandCtraining without some adventure. So expect a few small optional activities outside of the normal training. But the Acro TT will be very focused. We do have an option of an “Adventure Opt in”. This is a 2 day event that will take place from June 11-12. It is 125$ and includes all equipment rental. Expect a good adventurous time that will most likely include some packrafting, hiking, caves and more. You know, epic Oregon stuff. If you are interested, shoot us an email and we will get you signed up.

Want more? Add on to the front end of your trip our “Level-Up JandC Training”:

We are excited to be able to offer an optional additional 12 hour training to those that want to come train with us before the teacher training. Check all the details HERE: www.jandctraining.com/events/bend-next-level-training. It is open to anyone who meets the pre reqs, and they do NOT have to be in the TT to come to this. It will be all physical work, so if you are wanting to brush up on your skills, need more training or want to come hang out with us, this is for you! For non TT attendees it is 175$ and for TT attendees it is $125. There will be a separate event page for this that will be up shortly.
