ACRO RISING – TEACHER TRAINING – MODULE 1: Building A Teaching Foundation

THE TRAINING

This 4 day partner acrobatic training is directed at those with a strong (partner) movement, acrobatic, and/or yogic practice and foundation and would like to deepen their skills and understanding, particularly toward teaching classes and creating strong learning environments.

The curriculum will consist of the following components:

* Skill development

As a teacher, trainer, and guide, students look to you for information and example. It’s not necessary to know are be able to perform every trick in the book, but it is useful to have a broad and stable foundation and a general idea of what is out there and what students might ask about or want to learn. In this segment of the day, we will explore a broad variety of skills, focusing on ease, how to spot them, and how to break them down.

* Pedagogy

In this segment we will be looking at the questions: What makes it easy for students to learn? How can we transport most information with fewest words? What kind of communication works well? How can we create an optimal learning environment? What is the best way for a class to be structured?

* Motivation – Sharing Circles

In this segment, we will have an opportunity to check in with each other and have a daily exchange with our assigned partner about what motivates us, what worked well for us, what we are missing, and how we would like to develop.
