Summer Solstice AcroYoga Festival in Oxfordshire

Event Details

Celebrate the summer solstice at this community-focused festival. Small and intimate, this festival is located at Matt’s property in South Oxfordshire and is all about fun, play, and connecting with others. This will be the 3rd festival event at Matt’s and this year it is being stepped up to provide you with a schedule of classes and workshops from a variety of teachers from across the UK community.

You can choose to arrive on Friday afternoon and enjoy an evening of connecting around a campfire or on Saturday morning for the opening circle. Being a festival, bring your own camping gear and plan to share larger tents (arrange beforehand or sort it out upon arrival). Everyone is encouraged to arrive by 12-noon on Saturday at the latest for the group circle, kicking off the main classes/workshops.

Being located in the countryside, public transportation is very limited. Reading is nearby and very well connected on the First Great Western Paddington line; pickups/drop-offs from Reading or Shiplake (much cheaper if coming from London) stations can be arranged closer to the time.

Food
You will need to bring your own food, cutlery/utensils, bowls/plates, cup/bottle, coolbox/cooler/icebox, etc. Please be eco-conscience: reusable or recyclable utensils/plates only; no plastic or styrofoam. A washing-up station will be available.
Both open-fires and coal-fires will be available to cook on, separate ones for meat and vegan.
There will be NO access to the house kitchen or refrigerator. Large buckets full of ice will be provided to put drinks in.
There are nearby grocery stores, readily available if you drive.
Alcohol is welcome, with respect to NO acrobatics once you have started to drink.

UPDATE
Answering some common questions received here so far. Additional information and logistics will be provided closer to the event date.

Camper vans
Yes, these are welcome. There is plenty of space on the lane (last year there were quite a few parked up). It is a quiet countryside lane with very little movement (often more horses than cars).

Kids
Yes, kids are welcome at no cost with your ticket (there will be a free ticket option available to select for kids so that I can provide let parents know how many kids will be coming). Kids remain sole responsibility of parents throughout the weekend. A children’s area will be provided in the garage if there are a few kids around.

Food/Cooking
Saturday evening will be loosely organised as a communal buffet. The fires provided to cook will be plentiful (much more than previous years). Think of it like a big BBQ. In community spirit, a huge pot of porridge will be prepared for Sunday morning for those who like/want it.
